Advance Dental Care is a dental practice on Bonza Bay Road in East London. We believe modern dentistry and personal, long-term patient care belong together. Technology helps us plan and deliver treatment with precision, but it is the relationship with each patient that makes that care meaningful.
Leon's Story
Two decades of caring for East London
Leon Philip Botha completed his dental degree at the University of Pretoria in 2001. He completed community service at Grey Hospital in King Williams Town and Frere Hospital in East London, and subsequently spent approximately a year working aboard the Phelophepa Health Train — a Transnet Foundation initiative bringing healthcare to rural communities across South Africa.
Leon joined the East London dental practice at the end of 2003, where he began building long-term relationships with patients, many of whom he has continued to treat for years. In 2007 he purchased the practice from Dr Cornelius. In 2008, Dr Crouse joined the practice, and the two served the East London community together for around fourteen years until Dr Crouse retired at the end of 2022.
Since then, Advance Dental Care has continued investing in digital dentistry — including CEREC CAD/CAM technology, chairside crown and bridge manufacturing, CBCT 3D imaging, intraoral digital scanning and diode laser technology.

Rooted in the community
Located on Bonza Bay Road, the practice serves patients from across East London and the surrounding region — from Komga and Stutterheim to King Williams Town, Hogsback and the coast. Many patients have been with the practice for years, and we value the trust that comes with caring for families over time.

Being established does not mean standing still. Advance Dental Care has steadily invested in a modern digital workflow so that patients benefit from contemporary, precise dentistry. This includes CEREC CAD/CAM for chairside crowns and bridges, CBCT 3D imaging, intraoral scanning and diode laser dentistry — used where clinically appropriate, not for their own sake.

Leon has worked with his assistant Belinda since 2003. Their long-standing partnership is part of what gives the practice its continuity and warmth — patients see familiar faces who know their history and their preferences.
